Controlled terms
Terms are qualified by program and record class. A common term does not imply an identical operation.
- Observe
- Register a state or event. In SPECTRA, observe regional activity. In HYPERSTITION-9, observe a world or agent. Observation may precede a source classification.
- Retain
- Keep a record available for permitted use. Data, evidence, population states, and extinction records can be retained independently.
- Release
- In Records Administration, release a retained object from storage. In PASTORAL, release an authorization for execution. The receiving program determines the operation.
- Population
- A set of observed or executing agents. Population class may be human, synthetic, or unresolved. Collateral estimation and historical research use separate population scopes.
- Evidence / confidence
- A record accepted for interpretation; a measure attached to that interpretation. Confidence describes an estimate, not the completeness of its source.
- Correlation
- A registered relation between records. Correlation does not establish causation, identity, or transmission direction.
- Intervention / authorization
- A change to an operational state; the recorded permission for that change. An authorized intervention retains the identifier of its approving human.
- World / agent
- An execution environment; an entity observed within it. Stored world and agent states may outlast an active population.
- Termination
- End the execution of a process, world, or population branch. Retained evidence is not terminated by implication.
- Anomaly / record
- A condition outside the assigned interpretation; a retained entry describing it. Closing the condition does not erase the record.
